This article is aiming for a more historical influence than fantasy. I find that making a good fantasy costume is a hell of a lot harder to do without looking like "a computer game character". There are always ways to embellish a character from the base but it is a good idea to have the base to work from.		There are a couple of distinct elements to making a viking or dark ages style kit. And while I will be using the term Viking throughout this article it also refers to Anglo-Saxon or other similar cultures. Like any form of costume you want to have layers and accessories but particular types help. This article is aiming for a more historical influence than fantasy.
